Silay City, February 1, 2025 – Silay Institute marked its 100th year of excellence with a grand morning celebration on February 1, 2025, setting the stage for a historic Centennial year. The event gathered students, faculty, alumni, and esteemed guests to commemorate a century of "Igniting Minds and Inspiring Futures."
The celebration commenced with a Thanksgiving Mass at the Centennial Covered Court, attended by the entire school community. Following the mass, an Official Centennial Program was held. School President Ms. Lilian S. Reventar, alongside key officials, delivered a warm welcome address, highlighting the milestone’s significance and the school’s aspirations for the future. The distinguished Board of Directors, Nihon Fukushi University officials, alumni, special guests, and local government officials shared their heartfelt messages and commendations for the school’s contributions to education and the community.
A highlight of the morning was the unveiling of a commemorative marker, symbolizing a century of educational excellence and community service. This marker stands as a testament to the dedication of all who have been part of Silay Institute's legacy. A centennial bell, time capsule ceremony, and centennial exhibit were other highlights of the morning festivities, symbolizing the school’s commitment to preserving its legacy for future generations. The capsule contained letters, photographs, and memorabilia representing Silay Institute’s past, present, and aspirations for the next century.
The morning celebration concluded with cultural performances from students, teachers, and indigenous people from Sibato Bukidnon in Silay City, showcasing the rich traditions of Silay City through music, dance, and performances. The centennial celebration, themed "Handuraw: Igniting Minds, Inspiring Futures," continues with various events planned throughout the year, reflecting on the institution's storied past and looking forward to its future endeavors.
