     As part of the World Tourism Month 2024: Tourism and Peace, the Silay Institute hosted the opening ceremony for the Silay City Tourism's Art Exhibition today, September 9, at the institute's main lobby. The event began with a prayer, followed by a flag ceremony. Meanwhile, the welcoming remarks were delivered by Dr. Victoria S. Mellnick, School Director, Ms. Gerle H. Sulmaca, Silay City Tourism Officer, and Councilor Mike Maravilla sharing their support and fascination in the rich artistic culture of Silay City with the students, faculty, and staff of Silay Institute.

     The highlight of the event was the highly anticipated ribbon-cutting ceremony, which officially marked the opening of the exhibition. Attendees were then invited to view the stunning art showcase, which featured a captivating documentation of the Silay City Heritage Houses made possible by the Arki-Camp.

     The program concluded with students and teachers touring the exhibition, reinforcing an appreciation for art and the beauty of Silay City's architectural landscape. The event successfully set a positive tone, inspiring a deeper love for art and heritage among the school community, celebrating the city's rich architectural expertise and cultural history.
