Silay Institute, Inc. wins Platinum Award in High School Category and Gold Award in College Category in the recently concluded World Youth Meeting 2021 held in Nagoya, Japan last August 5-6.
The presenters for the High School category who bagged the highest award are Renj Martinne Abellar and Garyl Dean Loro who are both Grade 12 Senior High School students of the institution. They presented their research virtually alongside five Japanese student presenters of Nihon Fukushi University Affiliated High School.

Meanwhile, the presenters for the College Category are Imae Nicole Solina and Aldrei Abellar who also virtually presented their research along with the two Japanese college students of Nihon Fukushi University.
The platinum award has been very elusive from the Silay Institute-Nihon Fukushi University Team since they started joining in 2017. Hence, the institution takes pride in this international recognition.

The coaches for this year’s WYM are Ms. Nicole Cabigon and Mr. Jorge Barzanas of the Senior High School and College Department, respectively, with Ms. Dyna Rose Pariscal as the overall coordinator. Other teacher-facilitators for the event are Ms. Christine Evan Joy Semillano, Ms. Mariz Ticao, and no less than the school director herself, Dr. Florcelita Zamora.
World Youth Meeting 2021 goes with the theme, “Regeneration and Sustainability: How can you be responsible for attaining Sustainable Development Goals”. This is the second year the event is held virtually. Other participating schools are from Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Cambodia and Taiwan.
